Abeal1117
So I wen to a local LFS and noticed they had 2 wrasse. Both labeled as "flasher/ fairy wrasse". Now I can tell one is for sure not either a flasher or a fairy but appears to be closer to a Halichoeres Sp., but the other looks like a fairy but I couldn't ID it. Anyone know, or have a suggestion to what they could be? Quote Link to comment
Abeal1117
The only thing I can come up with, is that it is some relative of the white tailed tamarin wrasse, since their body shape is so similar. Quote Link to comment
Abeal1117
Well after lots of researching, It is actually a Juvenile Saddleback Hogfish (Bodianus bilunulatus) . A very very small one 1 Quote Link to comment
ajmckay
Nice job on the research. I would agree on the Hogfish. The other looks like a female ruby fairy wrasse. I did find a picture that looked very similar called a "vila fairy wrasse". Quote Link to comment
