Water changes, and making salt water.

Hey so I make my own salt water using distilled water and instant ocean. I was curious.. if I do water changes weekly do I have to let the water mix with the instant ocean and my power head for 6 hours every week or is there a way to store water? Just  curious, i have no problem doing it every week but wasnt sure if i can let already made water sit. Thanks in advance

With instant ocean it's safe to store after it's been made. Keep it in a bucket with a lid.

 

Before use I often add a heater and powerhead to get it aerated and at proper temp.

 

There are other brands of salt that shouldn't be used after 5days storing.

I've stored IO for a week with little to no consequence. 

 

Generally speaking however. I make my amount 12-24 hours in advanced. Sitting in a sealed container with a air pump for circulation (no air stone, just hose)

Instant ocean is the one salt that can be stored with no limitations.

 

Red sea coral pro and aquaforest are 2 brands that aren't to be stores for more than 5 days.
