Lizbeth90
I’m having a REAL hard time trying to place my coral. I have a nuvo 20 the return pump is a 251 gph but it’s on the lowest setting. I have two powerheads beind the rock one 425 gph and one 240 gph. Alternating when they go on and off. I started off with the coral on the bottom and slowly moved them up but it seems the current is too strong. Even if I completely shut off the 425 and only keep the 240 gph. Quote Link to comment
biofool12
What kind of corals do you have? SPS, LPS, Softies, etc? Quote Link to comment
Lizbeth90
Mainly lps. My trumpets do very well anywhere I place them. My hammer wall starts to tuck in once I try to move it away from my sand bed and my torch Quote Link to comment
Butchy21
Finding the best spots for powerheads can be a chore but once you find a good flow it is worth the effort in the long run. For euphyllia you have to try a few places to see where it opens up and looks happy. If no place works with changing the flow- water parameters may be the culprit. Otherwise you can make a rock wall to give them a more calm area, or bounce the powerhead off the back glass or rock, or move the compact filter if you have one to adjust it's water output into the tank.
