Indiana Reefin
Tank did really well when I was away! So relieved. All my fish and corals are doing great and everything ran as it should. That is the longest I have ever left a saltwater aquarium for,13 days. I am going g to do a large water change this week and get back to doing weekly 5 gallon water changes. I am going to test NO3 and ALK today. 1 Quote Link to comment

Most times when I leave my tanks they seem to be better when I get back. It probably has something to do with keeping my hands out of the tank 2 Quote Link to comment

It’s gets pretty ugly if I let it go longer than a week without scrubbing it. I also use a toothbrush on my front panel against the sand bed. My anemone looks really healthy and happy right now. Every week the mouth gets greener and greener. My clowns still show zero interest though. 2 Quote Link to comment
Indiana Reefin
Tank is doing pretty well minus some brown algae. I hope it eventually goes away after tank matures. Parameters are great: PO4 - .02 NO3 - 2 ALK - 8.2 CA- 460 MAG- 1500 Temp - 78.5 a lot lot of my struggling corals that I rescued are looking like they are recovering! This frogspawn is still pretty clear but it is coloring up. Weird how the tentacles are inflated. Other corals are doing great. Anemone is doing really well! I am getting a stand this weekend to free up one of my desks in my office. One step closer to a sump and larger skimmer!! 1 Quote Link to comment
mystersyster
Corals look awesome. I love that chalice. I think I'll buy a frag tomorrow if my LFS has one. I've been stalking threads looking for stuff I like . I had that ocean revive for a while. It can definitely grow coral but is deceptively intense! 1 Quote Link to comment

Yeah corals seem to be happy! I want to get some SPS soon to put on my rocks. Sometime this late spring or summer. The ocean revive is very intense. I have my settings very low 30% blues and 15% whites and I still not able to keep my corals anywhere else besides the sand bed. My sand has calmed down and I am no longer getting algae on it. Some of my rocks I added around a month ago atull have some brown hair algae on it that should go away as the tank matures. Quote Link to comment
Indiana Reefin
I just bought a stand on amazon. It’s a cheap one but it should do. I don’t really have the time right now to build one. I also bought a 10 gallon aquarium and a Fiji sump kit. It looks really nice and the water level in the skimmer section is adjustable so I can set it perfectly for my skimmer.I am planning on getting a return pump soon. I already own a marine depot nano overflow kit. Eventually I am planning on getting a larger skimmer for my sump. I will post pictures soon when I get the stand and sump set up. Quote Link to comment
Indiana Reefin
Well the stand came and the top panel was broken..... So I am shipping it back ? I put together a sump this weekend and it turned out better than I thought it would. I bought a 10 gallon standard sump kit from fijicube and the quality of acrylic is awesome!! The baffles are cut to perfection. The thing that really stood out to me for this kit was that it has an adjustable baffle for water height. This is great for when I buy a skimmer for my sump! I am planning on getting a new sump and return pump and I should have this sump up and running in the next two weeks! My silicone work is suspect at best lol. But the seals are definitely sealed. Not the prettiest silicone job but I wasn’t that concerned about that. I am going to use filter floss and a sack of carbon on my media racks for now. Now for some pics! Quote Link to comment
Indiana Reefin
Well tank has been not doing so great. I lost pretty much all my frogspawn and hammer corals...☹️ I believe my issue was my vinager dosing . I stopped dosing vinager and kalk and my tank is looking much better. I am going to use the KISS approach going forward and just maintain parameters with water changes and adding additives once or twice a week. I got my sump going and upgraded to an octopus 110 SSS and it is doing awesome! I hung my light fixture and it looks much better. Here are some pics Quote Link to comment

Indiana Reefin
Well I have 4 more mini maxi’s and 1 rock flower anemone coming tomorrow. This is my first crack at a rock flower. If this rock flower does well, I plan on making a rock flower island and a maxi anemone island. Super pumped! Quote Link to comment
Indiana Reefin
Well I got my maxi’s an rfa today. The maxi’s are awesome the rfa is a little smaller than expected but all in all I’m pretty happy. I just put these in as the lights were going out so they don’t look as good as they are going to look. They attached almost instantly so that is a great sign! Quote Link to comment
Indiana Reefin
All my maxi’s are looking great right now! My RFA dissapeared. I hope it is okay. It was pretty small 1-2” in diameter. I’m sure it will show up. Quote Link to comment
specore
Maxi's are bulletproof. Love mine. Only downside is trying to move them involves a hammer and chisel 🙂 1 Quote Link to comment
Indiana Reefin
Luckily I’m happy with where they are at 😁 i love the the look of RFA’s but they obviously move more. My maxi’s moves max 2” Quote Link to comment
Indiana Reefin
Found my RFA! Looking good. Just ina bad spot for a good picture. But it I can’t get over how cool this staghorn crab is. I named him Mo because it looks like he has a Mohawk BA! Skimmer is doing some work Quote Link to comment
