Fish_Wiz
Loving it! Gave up my sexies for seahorses, I do miss them but not the fact that they ate every meaty coral I had lol 1 Quote Link to comment

I'm jealous of your Xenia island, and it looks like you have them pulsing. Thanks for the ID. It really pulses like crazy. Almost hypnotic when I turn the flow off. In my other tank it doesn't pulse at all but it's pounded by flow there. Quote Link to comment
andrewkw
Update on the nano reef : Growth is great, macro algae is out of control and sexy shrimp are doing well. I probably will eventually cut things back, at least the macro but for now I like that it obscures the heater even if bits and pieces end up floating around and it may have absorbed a coral or 2 into the big ball of algae. andrewkw
These days there are only 2 or 3 sexy shrimp left in the tank, but I have a pair of clownfish and it's become a nice muted softy reef. Sometimes I think about adding some more colour but I like this kind of look for this tank. 3 1 Quote Link to comment

Elizabeth94
Nice! I see your lates update was Jan of 2019. Good to see you kept it going. I keep thinking about setting up a softy only tank. 2 Quote Link to comment
andrewkw
It's a fun little tank. I have 3 other tanks and this one requires next to nothing. I occasionally change water with used water from other water changes. This is my only tank with sand and the tiny layer certainly is a detritus trap which can be a pain. Most of the time I run a sponge in the mini hob filter and periodically a bit of carbon as the top of the water does tend to get filmy. Other then that though I feed the fish / shrimp and let it grow how it wants for the most part with only occasional trimmings. I am a big believer in frequent water testing but not for this tank. There are no corals that have a skeleton and if I feel like something is off I will change 50% of more of the water with water that has known parameters faster then I can test it. 3 Quote Link to comment
