Coolreefer42
So randomly the algae in my tank bloomed from light green to dark brown to a nice purple color... I do not supplement my water with anything algae related. What is this stuff! Quote Link to comment
Tamberav
Does it blow off the rocks? slimey? If so, cyano (bad). If it is hard and encrusted on the rock, coraline algae (good). Quote Link to comment
ihus
Do you have a new tank? The same happened to me when i set up my tank, First it was holy green, after sometime it was total diatom takeover, and finally i had cyano, My tank didnt had cyano that was purple like that, but maybe its just the light that make the photo look more purple, anyway, i used Red Slime remover and all the cyano went away, the thing is.... i paid like 25bucks for it, and used it one single time, its still full, if it is cyano ask someone near you if they have Red slime remover, and ask if you can use it XD I didnt had any corals, only a Carpet anemone, So im not sure if its safe to use it with corals, but it does remove cyano.
