Hi, I got this little coral when i started the hobby two years ago,
anyway, i forgot what the name was.

From the photo you can see the plug and a small rock glued to it,
when i got it, im almost sure it was on the stone, but it seems to have moved,
It didnt seem to grow or do anything, it just sits there,
i poked it a few times and it seems to be a soft coral,
also, if i turn off the pumps and put meat food on it
the coral tries to close, it doesnt close like a discosoma,
but it does close a little bit,
I want to know what it is cause i never saw another one in any lfs around here,

Thanks for any info you may have.

(it looks pinkish/red under blue LEDs)

I think its a shroom,

But the texture is so different, and its thick,

its not thin like the other shrooms i have,

Maybe its just some kind of shroom thats not around that much.(im guessing here)

The claw is from a crab that got into the tank with something,

they keep showing up, and every time its bigger,

not sure what crab it is, but it molted a lot of times.

Is there a name for this kind of texture for a shroom?

Thanks For the reply.

That other coral in the front is an Acan i think, the lfs here sells stuff with japanese names, so i have to guess what it is when i buy anything,

I only had dry rock when i started 2 years ago, i only got a few rocks with coraline algae, over time most of the rocks look like that,

a lot of stuff are just hitchhikers from the frags i got.

the polyp to the right is just a frag of that colony, its a single head.

Thanks

It looks a little pale possibly bleached from your pics hun - has it been hiding out at all or could it possibly have been exposed to very strong lighting?  I picked up a ricroodea recently that had not been acclimatissed to being stuck straight under a super powerful LED lamp and was quite badly bleached out so am now trying to save it.  I have it in a relatively shaded area and am target feeding it small amounts and it seems to be gaining small amounts of colour xx

I use 8500k LEDs,

It was that color since i got it,

It has been in the tank for two years on the same spot,

i do think its small, cause its the size of a thumb nail,

not sure if I should move it, i do want to frag it.

I also have a Yuma i think, it moved and a baby poped out : D

The Pinkish one never changed color, i cant take a good photo with my cellphone.

I hope your shroom recover soon, post a pic if you have one XD
