LeeJiYoung
Hi guys, i'm new to the forum and currently planning on to make my own reef tank. I'm wondering if it is possible or not to make a shallow reef with seashore-like built in ? Can anyone gives me some advices about this idea ? Been looking at some of the others ideas. Some said there will be a low-tide smell, some said salt creep will drive this tank salinity crazy. I'm hoping that there is a way to evade those cons of this setup. P/s: Sorry, I couldn't find any better quality image to show what I'm thinking on except this one from an old forum post. Any helps would be grateful. Thank you Quote Link to comment
Jimmeh Lee
If I were trying to replicate or make a tank with that sort of affect I would use a drop-off tank. Then you could have a shallow macro-algae area and a deeper area with corals and such, as in the picture. I wouldn't try to make the substrate as sloped as to have a shore like in the picture, but just manipulate the dimensions of the tank. 1 Quote Link to comment
Cintax
A person on here who has done similar tanks is Brad908. I'd check out his tank builds. 1 Quote Link to comment
