Cycle started!  Added Tropic Marin miniflakes sand and some nasty smelling bacteria. 1.025 and 80 degrees.

Nice tank :)

Just started my first reef and it's on the kitchen counter also. I look forward to seeing your scape.

Thanks!

Yes a 4" black piece cut lengthwise.  It was actually a hair short, so I had to cut a plastic lid to a jar in half to lift the PVC to the proper height.  Now the spacer is hidden under the sand.

Had some requests for the rest of the setup, so here are some shots of how everything is supported and the cabinet below.  Got pretty lucky with the existing shelving and a power outlet under t here.  Good spot for the top off water, and a few controllers.

Update - there is life!

Got a very nice deal from a local member who was downsizing his anemone tank.  Picked up a rock with 8 RBTAs and a paired, hosting set of Clarkii clowns, all for $180!

Also learned my lesson from previous jumpers that a screen top is necessary (although these two rarely venture far from their nems).  Used the new Res Sea kit and customized it for my dimensions.  Very quality!

Oh my, I love love love this!  I love that you can see through the entire tank, and what a great livestock choice.  Sometimes I wish I could ditch all the fish and corals just to have my two clowns and a tank full of nems.  Then again, I love my fish and corals :P

Well done! Following for sure!
