Hishman
My first aquascape. I don't know much about coral placement. Let me know if something is going to cause issues with flow/placement etc. Note the rock sticking out front on the right side will be filed flat so it sits lower. I used side cuts to trim the back of the rocks flat so I can still clean the glass. Likely adding an island for gsp or similar in front of left archway as well. Thanks in advance! Kellie in CA
As long as you can get all the way around for cleaning, it looks great to me! 1 Quote Link to comment
JBM
It looks good so far, to bad you haven't posted what type(s) of filtration your using. It appears tho, that you haven't left much sandbed area for acclimating corals. The dual archway will be appreciated by your fish and inverts. In my opinion, there are two camps when it comes to aqua scaping. Those that lean rocks on the back glass, and those that do not. In my experience, there is marginal difference between the two, so long as you can get in there with a algae scraper, or paper towel to get the film off. Eventually it'll all become coraline algae anyway Quote Link to comment
Hishman
Thanks for the comments! JBM below is the tank design. I have the full details are in my build thread here. It ill have a 350gph pump with two powerheads on both sides Quote Link to comment
Andreww
Looks good although if I may suggest something while the tank is still dry:) Here I drew a line on your picture. If you could break it off where the red line is, drill a hole through the rock and insert an acrylic rod in there to keep it suspended, it would look way nicer, give you more sand space for acclimating /placing lower light coral and did I mention look nicer? Lol Quote Link to comment
Andreww
Or the other arch works as well . Might even be better doing the left side suspended since the rock is a bit lower on the right, giving you space to place SPS on top and leave space for growth. A million ways to do this aquascape thing but don’t rush . 1 Quote Link to comment
JBM
@Andreww is right.... dont rush anything Quote Link to comment
Hishman
Thanks for the comment Andrew. Where you put the line is actually right where two rocks combine! Quote Link to comment
