Was just looking in the clam department and thought I’d post here in case someone is interested. Looks like a nice specimen, quite rare to find a blue squamosa .

They've been getting them in pretty regularly, now. I'd buy one, if I hadn't heard of DD's track record with PM.

 

anyone know if they've resolved that? Have any direct experience with DD tridacnids?

PM right out of the box, showing few weeks later or months later?

Didnt know. I’m expecting my second gold maxima to get here in the next hour or so.

First one died from shipping stress.

Seemed to depend on the system, but most started presenting within a few weeks of arrival. This is going back several years, so they may have fixed the issue. However, if they’ve never changed their system, PM will still be present, as any snail, or clam will harbor it.

Interesting. Will keep an eye on mine.

This one arrived well , went through almost 2 hours acclimation to match my salinity .

Now it opens and closes, reacts to light etc

So far so good, but good to know about L.A.

Their 2 week warranty ain’t long enough to catch PM if present .

Will do.

Heres “it” on my monti cap. Hopefully it’ll like the spot. Flow is perfect and directional with the mantle. Should be good to go, looks pretty too, although a blue one would have looked better against the red cap(which btw is somewhat recovering from and alk spike and looks a bit faded).

It’s a good looking clam. I think it goes well against the cap.
