Skimmer for sumpless 40g tank with wavemakers?

Hi, I'm planning a sumpless 40g tank and I wan to know which skimmer would you recommend. I was interested on a Tunze 9004 or something like that since it seems sleek and nice, I want to have 3 small fish max and focus mostly on corals.

 

However, I will also have wavemakers and I heard the Tunze 9004 could have issues with changing water levels and the wave action would make the water level change wouldn't it? How do you deal with this issue? Is it really an issue?
