Did I just buy a dead geniopora/flowerpot coral?

So I was at Mystic Reef in Riverside CA to just look around, I saw this nice looking coral with pink insides, asked Jeremy the owner what it is, it’s a geniopora. I got it and came home, when I searched online what it should look like, it shows some otherwise that what it looked. So my questions is, is this geniopora dead or alive?

It's alive! Not looking too hot but wouldn't count it out yet, IME they are more finicky than other LPS and it's one of the few corals I have had wither away on me (algae and Ca/Alk issues). Should be a nice colored specimen once opened.
