I let it grow on the frag and it turned out to be rather beautiful. Any idea what it could be? It’s the green “nano-torch” like stuff on the left of the frag. Thanks. It responds to feeding. And yes I know my frag is half dead from my previous tank crash ? but it’s showing new growth. 1 Quote Link to comment
RayWhisperer Posted November 5, 2017 Share Posted November 5, 2017 Are you meaning the stuff on the left side of the plug with the acro on it? If so, that looks a lot like galaxia. Or, are you talking about the purple looking one just left of the zoas, down at the bottom? If that, it's either stylophora, or poccilopora. 1 Quote Link to comment

Haha really good eyes! I forgot to ask about that thing in my zoas. I think that is pocillopora too. Time will tell when it grows bigger. The zoas are spreading onto my other frag plugs and racks so I’m not too concerned about them. Just looked at pictures of galaxies and they sure look like it! It’s a pretty hitchhiker. Or something along those lines.... Yea I just read about the aggressiveness. But can they be worse than torch corals? It’s still rather tiny now maybe I can snip it off the frag plug and put it on its own. Worst case I’ll house it in my QT only to move it out when I need got a new fish or sick fish.
