tgn225
Hey guys, I usually don't post on here but I thought some of yall would like this. I recently moved to a different state and lost a few odds and ends for my Reef Octopus nwb 150 skimmer. I was missing the silencer and the venturi inlet. Now I could've just bought them online and called it a day but I'm a cheap bastard and like to make my own things. With a lot of help from Reef Octopus, I was able to get the exact dimensions of the parts that I needed and was able to start designing. I used Fusion 360 to make my designs. I decided to break the silencer into two parts for printability and also to insert cotton balls if it was too loud. Here is the Print in process. I used a Printrbot Simple Metal with extended build plate. I printed at .2mm height @ 215c and 20% infill. And here's the finished product Works perfectly!!! I have the .stl files as well if any of you guys want to print some parts yourselves. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

I've always wanted to create an online library of replacement parts for small things like this. Quote Link to comment
dorky08
Wow tht is awesome!!! How does it perform? Quote Link to comment
tgn225
Perfectly, there isn't any performance loss. I would've enhanced it if I could've but unfortunately I wasn't sure of how to improve their design. The filament I used was PLA and its totally non-toxic and plant based. It actually smells like I'm baking cookies while I'm printing hah Quote Link to comment
