Hi folks.

Here is my entry and tank journal for the Creative Container Pico Contest!

Picked it up at a thrift store for $6.

Measured the water volume and it comes it at 1.9 gallons.

No real plans as far as stocking goes.

Really excited.

Good Luck Everybody.

Think I’m gonna chuck these into my sump and let them cure for a few weeks.

Will post my scape soon.

You mean there's actual aquascaping involved? I gotta pick up my game!

Got myself a little 7.5w betta bowl heater today. Should do the trick.

You may want to look at getting a temp controller to help control the temps if it's not one with a set temp.  Finnex and Inkbird make some that people have used.

Thanks for the advice. You think it may be too much if it’s always on?

Which heater did you get? Just wondering about the options we have up here.

Btw love the scape! The jaggy rock compliments the curve of the vase really nicely!

I think it could be, depending on ambient temps.  Some types of betta heaters have heated things up to the 90s before.

Wow. That won’t do.

That is a perfect scape for that vase.  I think it'll be real pretty.

Yup lol.  Some people put them on timers but I would not be comfortable with it, I would only feel comfortable with it on a controller lol.

Update Time!

I got a bubbler, heater, and light through trades. So the tank is officially wet!

Problem is my my light isn’t contest approved. Honestly I don’t know if it could even grow coral. However. Here is my first wet fts anyway.

Scape doesn’t really matter in these containers. It just gets blown out anyway! Haha

I like the aquascape. Very nice.

The betta heaters stay on constantly. My temp easily got to 85 and that's within an hr. Crazy.

I put it on a light timer. 30 mins on, 1 hr. off.

The constant on heaters aren't meant to be turned on and off so really a controller or light timer may effectively kill the heater eventually.
