Why Such An Expensive Fish?

This is the first time I have seen this fish on Divers Den and that $1999.99 jumped through my phone at me.  

 

The fish in question is Mauritius Flasher Wrasse Terminal Phase Male (Paracheilinus piscilineatus).

 

To me it looks like pretty similar if not identical to other Flasher Wrasses with a $50 price tag.  What makes this one so special?  I am really curious to know why this one is the crown jewel of Flasher wrasses.

basically it is rare to get they species of Flasher and a Male is even harder...has nothing to do with look.

I can understand the rarity being a huge price point if it looked completely different than anything else, but it looks identical to other Flasher wrasses.

I agree with you there but some would say the same thing on certain designer corals.
