Dsmith
I have had two percula clownfish for a while. I got the first one about a year ago and the other about 6 months ago. The second one is a little larger and seems to still be chasing around the other. The smaller was jitters as if he is being submissive but still is always getting hassled. Thankfully they are both healthy and eat well. Is this long time chasing normal/hassling normal? I have read that short term fighting is normal but I haven't seen anything in long term. Is there anything I should do? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Clown79
Yes it's normal. In the wild the female constantly chases the males, it's a method for them to keep them in their place and so they don't become a dominant female. 1 Quote Link to comment
1967type1
Agree. As long as everyone is eating and is healthy there is nothing to worry about. I have heard of female clowns killing their mates after years of being together but I don't think that its all that common. 1 Quote Link to comment
