Cannedfish
Welp, it’s that time again. Yup, time to sit back and swallow another sweaty thumb of a month like it’s a warm Miller Lite. Between the travel restrictions, having already watched everything on every streaming service at least twice (including gossip girl (I’m not ashamed (I’m ashamed))), and the even more distressing fact that bars are shut down, this pandemic is starting feel like a reboot of Groundhog Day where they recast Bill Murray with a two day old soggy burrito. Luckily, and honestly surprisingly, the tank is somehow managing to squeak by slightly better than real life, it’s like being the hot girl’s fat friend, who other friend is slightly fatter. It’s not great, but it could be worse. Speaking of fat girls (segue alert!), it seems as though the female wasp, Pickles, is either knocked up, has intestinal blockage, or is on the fast track to having her own reality TV starting an obese... yet sassy body positive fish! I’ve messaged several “scorp” keepers (as they like to be known) and the consensus is to “ride it out.” Say what you will, but I knew I shouldn’t have trusted that dashboard confessional listening male waspfish... In a marked contrast to the previous several months there was a noticeable uptick in livestock purchases this last moon cycle. Like a turkey-stuffed-1996-Midwestern-mother-fighting tooth and gelled-nail for a Tickle-Me-Elmo the day after thanksgiving... I left my societal decorum at the Walmart sliding glass door this the last 30 days and swiped the credit card (not the gross way) on several new additions for the tank... Yes, I purchased a whole one and half new “corals.” I know, I know, some of you might, be like “that not really a lot…” Well, Columbus, I implore you to find the necessary real estate for anything in the tank. Blenwood’s aqua-castle is basically any of the double-wide trailer’s featured on the hit show “Horder’s” minus used diapers or cats. Uhh, just thinking about rooms full of old issues of Reader’s Digest and used milk containers gives me the chills…moving quickly on. So what did I buy? Jeeves, the bulleted list! 1) An elusive yet red on red tenius (LRO Hearttrob) 2) Like any good modern day Hollywood studio, I decided that new ideas were passé, and decided to just make another Avenger’s movie reboot a previous questionable idea. That’s right! I am bringing 2017 back, and would like to introduce Randy Clam II: The Electric Boogaloo The Streets Tokyo Drift Die Harder err… I bought a clam. Tiny Maxima Clams are finicky, and I don’t have super high hopes, but I love how the look, and they add a bunch of character to the tank, and most importantly it was the right price so c'est la vie! No regerts. I know some of you smarties are like “but Blen, that’s two purchases? Several poorly formed sentences ago you said you bought one and a half new things? What gives?” To this I respond, “bourbon is one hell of a drug, and the Thunderdome don’t take no prisoners...” Also I lied, and also added an interesting maricultured acro. “Ha-cha! Math will always be fake news in Louisiana!” Lastly, I reorganized the zoa garden. The blondies are starting to get unruly, and I wanted to prevent “nicer” zoas (CB White Zombies and AIO’s) from being overgrown. I still unsold on the Buttkissers, and may trade them out if I can find anything worthwhile….err…GMK’s. ………………………. Enough with the bad writing! Progress photos! That stuff's nasty if it gets mad. Oh no, I'm not worried at all about the echinata's murder ability. It's proven to be very, very good and "knifing corals in the back under the cold cover of darkness" or even taking them for a visit "to the museum of stairs." It has really excelled at it in fact. The list includes: Rock Flower anemone Walking dendro monti digi fathead dendro balanophylia ultron favia lepto birdnest (more times than I can count) cyphastrea (the current battle) Small Lobo 3 1 Quote Link to comment

Yeah, the enchinata is a huge dick. Also, having spent the last two hours thinking about it... "Congratulations on the clam" is a statement that hasn't been said enough to me during my life. That being said I should've thrown a "Clam Shower" in celebration. It's like a baby shower without the next 18 years of responsibility. And with that... Photos! Not the best pic... but look at that belly!! Hearttrob slowly coloring up! Zoa garden slowly filling in: This thing doesn't skip a beat, it is ALWAYS bright pink. Whereas, other pink milles (I'm looking at you RMF Diablo) will green or brown out if there are parameter swings... this thing... doesn't care... and better yet, it's pink in all spectrums of light... 9.5/10 9 6 Quote Link to comment

Between the monthly goat sacrifice, chalk pentagrams, and chicken poop blood, I've kinda maxed out my allotted weekly voodoo limit for the tank. I'm afraid if I do even a toe nail or sage burning amount more, something... bad... might happen. There's no need to raise Blenwood I from the grave. BTW you were 100% correct about the Loawa 60mm... crazy sharp. On 12/22/2020 at 3:50 PM, Elizabeth94 said: Absolutely beautiful. Packed in with color. Thanks! I misread the picture you sent me- I thought you’d gone all the way and gotten the 25mm for some reason. That 60mm I do use free hand for most stuff, but especially on the Evo and Challenge tanks because there’s no room to sit a tripod or the focus rail. So it can be done but the focusing is harder than usual because of how hard it is to crank the lens to where you want it. We will all be waiting to see what magic you turn out with that thing. 2 Quote Link to comment
