Rory's fusion 10: now rocking a reefled 50

Hello reefers,

While i am slowly collecting everything for my reefer 170, I bought an im fusion 10 for a good price (not easy in europe) and thinking about setting it up as my first saltwater tank. I sold my freshwater tank and i'm officially fishless and it kinda sucks :D.

Planning to run it skimmerless (like Gena, she does a wonderful job with her fusion 10) and just keep up with water changes. If i really need to use one i have an atb nano hob skimmer for backup.

So what do i already have:

Tank: im fusion 10

Stand: ikea kallax

Pump: eheim compact 600

Skimmer: eheim skim marine 100

Heater: eheim thermopreset 50watt

Water movement: mp10wqd

Light: Nanobox mini tide plus m

ATO: Tunze 3152

Now what ato should i get? Tunze nano osmolator 3152?

Should i choose the prime hd or the kessil a80? I actually want a mini tide but it's to expensive to import it to Belgium

Couldn't resist and bought a nanobox mini tide plus m, i wanted that light for over 2 years now. Figured it be worth the extra cost.

Here are some pics:

What do you think of this aquascape?

Planning to only keep a few corals like a frogspawn or torch and some acans and zoas.

i also want one fish to keep the bioload low. Not really sure which one to get. Perhaps a purple dottyback or a tailspot...

Water movement: mp10wqd

Light: still the stock light, going to buy a prime hd or a kessil a80 (what should i choose?)

Equipment update:

My feed pump and heater:

So using the compact 300 to let the water go slowly through the filter media. Good idea or not?

Heater is the new thermopreset 50. It's a nice little heater with a fixed temp.

My flowpump:

Nothing special here... Just a nice mp10

Skimmer if i need one:

IMG_1535.thumb.JPG.d52891524888f42a35785302d3bd770b.JPG

This is a real beauty, handmade by atb. Don't mind the airstone, it's in the gunk reservoir because there is no air tubing to hold it into place.

skimmer fits nicely in chamber 2 if i would use a prime, kessil or nanobox. Can't use it with the stocklight.

Cheers,

Rory

So the longer i look at the nanobox mini tide the more i want one.

A white body with black lid would look awesome over my tank.

I'm also going to order a polycarbonate lid. I asked if he could make it with smoked polycarbonate and clear mesh.

Also thinking about upgrading the custom caddy i have and buy the intank one.

Looks good to me! A gallon of saltwater weighs 8.6lbs so your tank will not be more than 100 with everything in. If you're worried I'd recommend you sit on your stand and test it for a while. Probably should be fine though

I have the same stand that my IM 20 is on.  You're good there.

I have the Tunze 3152 on my 20g too and it works great.

Good to know! If it can hold the 20 the 10 should not be a problem. Think i'm going to buy the 3152 and a tunze nano care magnet.

Looking good!  I have a Walmart version of that stand for my new tank I'm pulling together lol.

Thx! I love the simple look of the stand. It's cheap and sturdy. What could you want more? :)

The L bracket install was a good call.  Super cheap, super quick to install, and it'll give you so much more piece of mind.

Yep, i already had them so i figured why not install them on the stand for extra safety. Took me 5 minutes to do.

I love simple too!  I think it looks GREAT!  I love a brick wall too :D

Thx Gena, i really appreciate it.

And yes there is just something about reeftanks against a brick wall. The light spillage looks so nice at night on that wall. Just love it!

You wont regret the Tide or upgrading to the intank media basket.

I have, and love them both!

Im going to be snagging a lid before long myself as well.

Thx mate! Just looked at your build thread. Tank is doing great!

Yes, once you set your mind on a tide, you just don't want anything else.

Thank you.

Yeah I ran into them while browsing this site.

Talked to the wife, and ordered one within a couple days of seeing them.

Dave is really awesome to work with.

i've been eyeballing those nanobox reef lights for years now. They will cost me a good amount of money (being in EUROPE and having to pay extra taxes), but it will be totally worth it.

Talked to Dave, he told me my tide will be out no later than next Monday.

So this is actual footage of me already waiting for the delivery truck:
