fishkeepersaltnfresh
Awesome read. Have never shipped any coral or fish. Just curious, do you need to inform USPS that the package contains living things? Quote Link to comment
rock_lobster
I've had frags shipped with heat seals only to receive a drenched box(one ended up costing me 600$ from DOA). If your using a small flat rate box you can still fit several small 3 inch shipping bags in there tied at the top. and double bagged for a much lower chance of leaking. Ive shipped zoa packs that way in 2 day flat rate as well as chaeto. I even toss in a heat pack for good measure. Quote Link to comment

There are like 4-5 heat seals and multiple bags in between the water and the package with this method. If all those fail then it wasn't actually heat sealed. Quote Link to comment

Jakesaw
Great topic. Is that fiberglass insulation. If so, have you noticed any scratchy itching after handling it. Thts' been my experience with the stuff though it was decades ago. The product may have changed over time. Thanks Quote Link to comment
