Harmless sponge, or what?

The orange colored organism in the picture came in on some Florida live rock.  When I received it back in May, it was about a quarter of an inch long.  Now it's grown to about 2 inches and seems to be thriving.  Is this something that I should look to eliminate before it's too late?
