MrMonteCristo
Hey guys! So I am new to running carbon. My tank has a yellowish tint to it, so I read that carbon will help get rid of it and "polish" the water. So I went out and bought carbon with a couple reusable bags. All I have to do is, rinse it out, then put it in the filter compartment of my tank right? Do I have to do anything else / special? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Marius_LT
Some people rinse it with boiling water. I did that by recommendation of LFS. I use steam activated carbon. 1 Quote Link to comment

You can keep it in media basket or something similar as well. 1 Quote Link to comment
Clown79
Rinse it well until it runs clear. Add it to your filter During water changes rinse the bag to remove detritus buildup Every 2 -3 weeks replace with new carbon Using less is better than more. 1 Quote Link to comment
