Lugmos12
I couldn't find this on another thread so... when is it safe to add a product like Clear FX Pro to a tank? The Fluval EVO 13 came with carbon but I haven't used it either. I have 225ml of Clear FX Pro unused and thought about adding it to the tank. Quote Link to comment
Clown79
I'd wait till after your cycle is complete. 225 is for 30g and the evo is 13 (less with rock and sand ) that could be an issue Quote Link to comment
Lugmos12
What about carbon? Quote Link to comment
Clown79
I have used carbon during cycling but coral rx has the same properties as carbon. Quote Link to comment
Lugmos12
@Clown79 I think I'm gonna add the tiny carbon bag that came with the Fluval EVO 13. Every time I do something I start to panic LMFAO wasn't like this when I had freshwater tanks Quote Link to comment
Clown79
Carbon removes toxins and polishes water. It's not necessary to run it during cycling. If you are dosing ammonia or bacteria I wouldn't run it as it may reduce the levels. If using liverock for cycling then I'd say it's fine to use. Quote Link to comment
Lugmos12
I'm using live rock. And I dosed some bacteria 1x initially per the LFS BEFORE the forum informed me that I didn't need to those bac or ammonia when using live rock. Thank god I didn't dose ammonia. 1 Quote Link to comment
