Waylon
Need some thoughts on keeping 3 peppermint shrimp in a 5.5 gallon. Will there be any aggression or problems with my bio load (there is only 1 peppermint shrimp and 1 emerald crab)? I've been manually feeding the 1 I have in there. I also do a 50% water change a week. Any thoughts or opinions would be much appreciated! Quote Link to comment
Clown79
Should be fine. Do you plan on corals because peppermint can go after fleshy corals. Quote Link to comment

BustytheSnowMaam
In all the years I've had a SW tank, I've never had peps eat a coral. I think people who have this problem have accidentally purchased camelback shrimps who look similar. I think you'll be fine. 1 Quote Link to comment
Clown79
I had them. They weren't camelbacks. There is a distinct difference in look between the 2. My 3 shrimps decimated 3 brains in one day. In my other tank they destroyed my feather dusters. There are a few ppl on here with similar experiences. It's a caution with them. If they eat aiptasia-they can eat coral. 1 Quote Link to comment
Waylon
Thank you all for the advice. I think I'm going to go for it. This was initially a test pico for me. I wanted to see if I could do it long term before I sunk a ton of money into a nice setup. So I'm not going to be putting an High $ corals right now anyway. Quote Link to comment
