Hi All,

I have two of these EcoQubes that I kept as fresh water tanks for some time, I am now thinking to convert them into Pico Reef tanks, as i am a total noob to the salt water game i'd like your input into the suitability of these tanks.

I was thinking of converting the plant media area into a mini refugium ( will have to figure out the light of course - suggestions welcome)

I am assuming the default lighting is utterly useless for the intended use? motor to me seems to generate a decent flow for the fresh water tank, not sure if it is sufficient for a reef tank

Sure, you could convert this to a Pico.

I didn't see how strong the light was, but the fact that you can control the spectrum it puts out tells me that you could likely use it for at least Soft Corals.

Odds are decent you might have to upgrade the pump to a stronger one. How many gph does it put out?

Should be doable to convert plant area to a refugium. Not sure how much room there is, but here's one lighting option: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00X84LMHK/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_15?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3EQCIM9V5D8KS
