rmhuntley
I"m seeing quite a few Glass bowl setups here. is there a "preferred" bowl to use? Quote Link to comment
SeaFurn
I like the round/roundish ones versus the cyclinder shape. I feel that the curvature helps with water flow if you are using an air pump. I also like the fact that the one I use is wider at the bottom and so there's a little more room to set frags on the sand before glueing them down to the rocks. It makes it a little more stable sitting on the stand as well. Look for one that has an opening that you can get your hand in fairly easily. And if you can find one one that has a lid or could rig up a lid for it easily that would be a plus. Lids help keep evaporation low which is a little more important since water volume is so low. Start a thread when you get yours going! Quote Link to comment
rmhuntley
I plan to start a thread once I get mine rockin'. For Water flow, is just an air line preferred, as the overall volume is so low? Quote Link to comment
SeaFurn
Yeah, I'd say so. You can get a lot of random water movement by using an airline with no airstone. Pumps generate heat and could potentially heat the water beyond the level you'd want. And finding one with a low enough gph is tough. A pet water bowl pump is about the only thing I've found that might work but I've been happy with the airline. Quote Link to comment
