Wow looks great so far. How do you like the loop system?

Thank you!

I absolutely LOVE the loop system. I had an apex on my last tank, but I am very pleased wit hthe level of control the loop gives. It was simple to setup. The pro version with two lights and the two wave pumps I bought separately cost LESS than the apex base unit. Can't beat that for the budget reefer imo.

Well, we have decided a theme for this tank. All Caribbean. :)

Ordered this little guy today off of Divers Den!

Doing all fish coral and inverts from the Caribbean. I even want to try my hand at sea fans and sponges!

It kinda works out that the AquaMaxx eco dry rock comes from Florida.

Well the wife overruled the Caribbean themed tank when she asserted that she must have clownfish. Happy wife, happy life, right? Lol.

I thought I had avoided diatoms by doing an unlit cycle, but I did not escape them. Haha. They have bloomed for the passed couple weeks and are rapidly disappearing. The tank was looking good this morning so I took a few shots.

I am trying out the Masstick food from easy reef. Bought it on Amazon. Seems to trigger a feeding response from everything in the tank lol.

Nice to see this coming along, I was just wondering about you and this tank yesterday!!

I love that Angel.

Have never heard of that food though.

Also, finally got my own tank wet on Thurs!!

I need to work on the tank thread for it, but you can see messy beginner pics in my most recent post on the thread in my Sig.

I had never heard of this food until recently and now I am seeing it all over.  People (and fish) seem to love it.

Finally figured out a we to redo my UPVC pluming...lol

I incorrectly glued pieces together when setting the tank up, forcing me to have the filter sock in the front and the skimmer in the back. CadLights wanted $60 for a upvc to pvc conversion kit. I got some stainless steel hose clamps and 1.75" ID pvc hose for less than $20. Voilà

Ok, so I feel like a dummy, but I can't figure out what you did here.

Added a new light and DIYed a mount for it plus the old one?

'Splain please?

Trying to figure out plumbing makes my brain hurt, so I'm impressed that you were able to do this!!

I made the stainless steel brackets for my Current USA Orbit ICs. The first pic was showing my new bracket and the stock wire mount that they come with.

@Travis I'm confused on what and why you did what you did with the plumbing.  I'm setting up a Cadlights 45G and I'm just a day or two away from gluing the pipes together.  Any suggestions before I get on with it?

Haha, yeh, don't glue it backwards like I did!  That's the only reason I had to cut it and splice it back together with tubing.  Do you have a build thread going?

Gotcha.

I didn't figure it'd get much interest, so I haven't bothered with a build thread.  Maybe I'll get around to it this weekend.  Rock is still cycling so their isn't much going on at the moment, other than my disdain for Cadlights Customer Service (which I was warned about in advance) and the rocks.

September 17 Update. Algae has landed. Lol

I suppose it's time for a real cleanup crew. I want to buy from ReefCleaners.com but I'm sure they will have to deal with hurricane Irma this week.

Looking good man! Do you have a LFS where you could pick up a small CUC to tide you over until ReefCleaners to dry up a bit?

While I'm here, can you check out my thread? Got a couple pieces in my Cadlights setup I'm not sure what to do with.
