Sandeep
The tank is now celebrating its 1 year anniversary. Here are some updated photographs. Lighting has now been replaced from the Par38 bulb to the Sanrise / Hipargero A029 Aqua Knight 30W CREE Nano Aquarium LED commonly sold on amazon. Picture of the fixture and the light stand. For more details about how to build this light stand, see my other thread here: https://www.nano-reef.com/forums/topic/380143-tank-mount-for-165w-or-300w-chinese-led-fixtures/ 9 1 Quote Link to comment

AvaS
Really nice tank and love the light!!! Do you think it has enough power for a 7 gallon mostly acan and micro reef tank with a few other corals? Quote Link to comment
Sandeep
For those asking about the light, it's quite powerful and should be able to handle any nano or pico tank. Folks are even using them on larger tanks in arrays (see the amazon pics) I love it's low cost, tiny light weight size and it has quality CREE LED's in multiple clusters rather than one point source and it has two controllable channels that you can set. I'm just not a fan of tank rim mounted lights, that is why I build the light stand to suspend the light over the tank. Here are some product videos and reviews about the light: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpcykHjPFMA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRQO333O54Y You can also read the reviews at amazon and reef breeders who both sell the light. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0727V8C5Q?tag=viglink20358-20 https://www.reefbreeders.com/shop/nano-light-touch/ 1 Quote Link to comment

Not much, just one lonely blue legged hermit crab, I might add another one. Key is maintaining low nutrient levels by not overfeeding, I feed the damsel and corals once a week, but have to spot feed the dendros heads every other day. I stir up the sand when I do the 100% water change every 3 weeks. Quote Link to comment

My conches dieing all time so ım searching for a way to keep clean the sand. Maybe i will try sea Urchin. Also when your sands color starts to change because of algae like green ext. ... I have a 2g with only a hammer, is it possible to put in a clown goby and feed him once a week as well? How do you do the 100%WC with the fish (you catch him first?) Thanks! Quote Link to comment

Yes you can put a clown goby in a 2g, they have a pretty low bio-load due to their inactivity. Other active inhabitants with low bio-loads include a skunk cleaner shrimp or a fire shrimp. The damsel spends the day at the beach on the sand in the tank during water changes. Quote Link to comment

The heater I'm using is a Cobalt Aquatics Accu-Therm 25W Not your typical heater in terms of it's sophisticated electronics. Also I wanted a small size heater where I could accurately set the thermostat temp, rather than one of those that do not feature any user temperature control dial. You have to find that fine balance over time between nutrients coming into the tank and those being consumed. Once you find that sweet spot you don't have algea issues. I'm stirring up the sand (shallow depth) at the time of cleaning so when I stir it up, everything in the water column comes out of the tank in the 100% water change. 1 Quote Link to comment
Cintax
What kind of rock is that? Quote Link to comment
Sandeep
23 hours ago, Cintax said: What kind of rock is that? The coral islands were made using pieces of coral rubble. Gluing them together to make interesting and stable shapes and then leaving them for a week for the glue to cure before putting them in the tank. 1 Quote Link to comment
