Struggling with my ATO

I bought at ATO kit from autotopoff.com.i am really struggling on how I am going to mount the float switches to the tank. I have a standard 10 gallon and want to keep the level at or above the black trim if at all possible. Any one successful achieve this? Any help would be much appreciated

You could always remove some of the trim edge it is blocking the float, or get a optical switch. 

 

Your talking about the plastic lip on the inside edge correct?
