Thanks ! so no ato yet, but I did order a temp controler from amazon... It's awesome! It was super cheap and is working super well. It turns on my heater when my tank reaches 77.6 and turns it off when it reaches 78. When the temp reaches 78.4 It turns on my fan! I'm hoping this will help with water evap alot! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KEYDNKK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I think that I will need to order another probe just to be safe as this one was not made specifically for underwater but for now it's doing well! 1 Quote Link to comment
coralcousins
A small clip of my clown. She's mean I'm afraid to put my hands in the tank lol 1 Quote Link to comment

gogeta
My black and white ones couldn't be more scared of my hands. I used to have a snowflake eel in a larger tank that would try and take me out every damn time! 1 Quote Link to comment
Pjanssen
How hard can a little clown bite! LOL. You either look like a tasty treat or a threat to her domain. 1 Quote Link to comment

She's definitely doesn't think I'm a treat, these are battle bites right between the fingers where it hurts lol. It's weird she was never like that then earlier last month during a water change she was charging at my hand. Quote Link to comment

I have to protect my hand with a net when I go in the tank cause my Clown does the same thing. 1 Quote Link to comment
metrokat
Somebody bites me when I stick my hand in, I haven't figured out who though. Leading contenders are the Blenny or the Damsel. The clowns are spawning but they don't bite me even when I get close to the eggs. 2 Quote Link to comment
coralcousins
From one stalk to now starting to splitting into 3-4 and moving onto the rock. Not as fast I thought it would be growing but it's still cool to see the difference 3 weeks can do. 4 Quote Link to comment

coralcousins
Final 100 Days of Nano The Equipment Display: Innovative Marine 14 Gallon NUVO Fusion Peninsula Aquarium Stand: Imagitarium Brooklyn Metal 29G Tank Stand with added wood top Light: 18-24 Inch Current USA Orbit Marine Pro LED Aquarium Light Heater: Cobalt Aquatics Easy-Therm Submersible Heater - 50 Watt Circulation: Hydor Koralia Nano Powerhead 425 gph Rocks: BRS Reef Saver Dry Rock 10 lbs Sand: Caribsea Arag-Alive Fiji Pink 20 lbs Salt: Instant Ocean Reef Crystals Refractometer: by Agriculture Solutions The Plan Simple, basic and wing it. Toadstool Xenia started with two tiny stalks Frogspawn bud looks greener in person. Duncan these also look greener in person camera won't pick it up Favia Zoanthids Candy Canes Maintenance We feed the fish pellets once or twice a day, the hermit, snail and shrimps get whatever they don't finish. The water gets topped off twice/three times a day since we don't have a top off system yet. Every two weeks we do a 3-5 gallon water change (rodi water mixed with reef crystals overnight). The back chambers have filter floss and chemi pure blue and every month we clean out the return tube and pump. The Frag-insula Start of the contest half way through End of contest. Livestock: Before appraisal -Ocellaris clownfish pair $35 -Hermit crab $2 -Turbo Snail $2 -Super Tongan Nassarius Snail $3 -Maxi Mini Anemone $25 -Four Sexy Shrimp $30 Coral Frags -Green star polyps $5 -Green Candy cane $5 -Candy cane $5 -Candy cane $30 -Duncan $10 -Assorted mushrooms $20 -Pulsing Xenia $5 -LPS maybe a Acan I'm not sure yet $5 -Acropora $5 -Favia $10 -Toadstool $10 -Frogspawn $10 -Assorted Zoanthids $40 -Montipora $5 removed because of the nudibranchs -Branching Montipora $5 dead temperature swings -Birdsnests $5 dead temperature swings Challenges Pest: One thing we wished we would have done is checking for pest on the coral frags. Every coral frag we buy now we check it and blast it with a turkey baster to knock off any kind of pest or hitchhikers. Temperature: My room doesn't have any type cooling besides a ceiling fan and open window. During the hot days of summer the tank temperature rose above 84. We battled this with a portable fan right next to the tank above the water, it helped somewhat. Next summer we will be ready with a AC unit. Evaporation: During this summer somedays I had to top off 4 times a day. Even now that it has cooled off it's still a pain. Finding the right balance of water: Too much water and the tank won't filter correctly or surface skim. Too little water and bubbles will fill your display. Equipment feedback The aquarium is great love the way it's built. There were some small scratches out of the box on the glass near the surface skimmer only noticeable at the right angle. The pump worked however it was so loud I had to sleep with earphones on. Once we got the okay I replaced it with a used syncra pump. The current usa light is pretty cool. The timer is great since you never have to worry about turning on/off your lights. The controller works well too you can refine the lights how ever you want. Overall This was a great way to get back into the hobby I love. My cousins also joined me on this 100 days they chose all of the livestock/corals and had fun learning about the animals and corals over summer break. Shout out to all the contestants! It's awesome to see everyones tank style. Lets keep this contest going beyond the end date ! - The Coral Cousins 7 Quote Link to comment

coralcousins
Planning for the cooler months. Here in cali we're going through a heat wave and that made me find a portable cooler, the room and aquarium is keep cool now with temps in the tank reaching 78-79. At the end of this month we might start shopping for some hardy SPS. photos coming after the water change lol. 2 Quote Link to comment
coralcousins
Doing a little maintenance on the tank today and noticed a couple of small mounds of sand. So I pushed one over and out came this alien looking worm ball ( I may have let out a high pitched squeal for a second) lol. It's a spaghetti worm they are pretty cool to watch. They pick up detritus and the sand particles cleaning them one by one. also was talking to LFS guy and he was saying the current usa lights won't be a high enough output to keep SPS happy. Anyone ever successfully keep SPS under these lights ? 4 Quote Link to comment
Mariaface
Flipping love these worms! I have several in my contest tank, and I've slowly been bringing them into the Fusion 20 to built up a population that'll take care of extra food. Granted, I haven't had them harass my corals yet... On the topic of lights: You may need to keep them at 100% output, but @holy carp keeps his 12g long tank under the regular Orbits. The slimer is definitely loving it in there! 1 Quote Link to comment

Also I'll need find a better powerhead as most of the flow is in the lower areas. Maybe the Jebao PP-4 ? any recommendations? Quote Link to comment
