I believe this was exactly my own downfall in my recent situation with raising Mg, so I completely understand!!

 

Pretty sure I speak for several people when I say we can't wait to see this tank get wet!!

Tank has been running for four weeks. Just letting it run while I get a feel for all the levels and fluctuations throughout the day and night.  

 

These t5's are boring me though..... may need to do a major lighting upgrade to a hybrid fixture.

I keep switching them out to try and find a better combo....

 

first it was Blue Plus, Blue Plus, Blue Plus, Purple Plus

 

now its Blue Plus, Blue Plus, Purple Plus and Super Purple. 

 

I have a few "white" bulbs....a 6500 and a 10000 that I am going to try to mix in there to see if I like the color better.  

 

This fixture has led moonlight but but I just miss the movement the leds provide.

Oooh, yeah, you need to get some white in there!!!

Try Blue+, 10000k, Blue+, Purple+ and report back.

I love the Marine Orbit Pro that I have on my 12 long but this tank needs a "beefy" fixture.  

I'm the opposite of most people...... I want a full figured fixture. lol

Is it too blue-ish or dim looking?

Also, try putting the blue bulbs in every other position, as in alternate them. 

Or switch the position of the blue & purple bulbs. 

You'd be surprised how much of a difference that can make.

Its too cool still.  The 10k definitely helps at high noon but I still need to find my blend.  Tomorrow I will try the 6500 in place of the 10k and see what's up.
