I saw your post on the IM 10 thread about low O2 levels, which wouldn't make sense since all of your corals are healthy. Thanks for checking in, at that point I was in full blown spam/panic mode Quote Link to comment
frahny
quick update got some shots of the acans coloring up. Colors are popping and everything seems pretty happy. My frog spawn seems to be retracted a bit and one zoa that was damaged in the bag has pretty much dissolved to nothingness. But other than that the corals are very solid. This us week is going to start off to be the start of some extended time away. I'll be at home for a few days at a time but from now till the end of October I'll be traveling almost every week with projects. Quote Link to comment

frahny
Figured I would just continue the journal on this tank transition. Tank started to get neglected, crashed, moved, bubble out break and loss of most corals...….. Just after life settled down (business and family) I started to battle the bubble outbreak, kept up on WC's one of the corner seams sprung a slow leak and swelled the stand (ikea). Obviously, its been 2 years since my last post so all of that was fairly spread out except for the leak. That was last week. I used this little disaster to work my way through an upgrade. I always have liked the lagoon or shallow reef tanks, ever since AJ tsin's 47 gallon I have been on one for those types of reefs. I landed on either an IM 25 lagoon or the waterbox 28.2. Waterbox won! Problem we had here is that it needed some new equipment and a new stand. So the orders and projects commenced. Time to prime And top coat In short this is how she sits now. 1 Quote Link to comment
frahny
And with one of the lights installed, the second comes end of the week. It was late so I'll take better pics soon. 3 Quote Link to comment
frahny
Tanks been up for 2 weeks ish, didn't have much of a cycle at all since I used all seeded rock and rinsed the sand. Added some fish for waste and nutrients and will try and get some pictures of them soon enough. Added another AI prime HD for better light spread and am running Saxby's profile on a 12 hour cycle. One thing that I noticed is that this tank consumes WAY more top off water, thank the Lord for tunze ATO's . Now on to the fun stuff, don't have great pics yet as still using a filter-less iPhone but picked up some fruit loop zoas, a seasons greetings cap and yellow and red grafted WWC cap. Super pumped to get some more coral in this tank and start the growing process. Also..... Sorry about the dirty glass tank view 1 Quote Link to comment

My camera was picking up all the particulate from scaping the diatoms off the glass so the focus should get way better as the water polishes up. Quote Link to comment

frahny
So following the reminder of my dude @SURVEYMAN46123 it's water change night. Figured I'd take a few shots. Top down is really the only way to enjoy a reef tank IMO. Looking forward to starting to putting a list together of target pieces. On an equipment note using the old nano ghostskimmer and it's never performed so well. Got it dialed in pulling pretty dry dark brown almost black skimmate. Enjoy Quote Link to comment

frahny
Water change night. My sg from the start has been 1.028 and trying to work it down to 1.026 so been doing a wc between wc's to help. Also, noticed a little bit of growth in some of my pieces while adding a few more. Tank is absorbing 1 dkh through out the week so may look at a doser in the next few weeks. Any how here's the tank. Still a little cloud and glass needs cleaned daily. 3 Quote Link to comment
kimdawg
Very nice tank! I love the top down view, it really shows off the coral. I wish I had one of each of your zoas, they are very colorful. 3 Quote Link to comment

frahny
Quick update, found that the tank is eating more alk than I am comfortable with having to replace in wc's. So Thursday comes a dosing pump for two part. It's currently losing about .3 dkh per day so with travel and such I want to keep things as consistent as possible. Also, had a swing a few weeks back and my pink tip Mille didn't make it, I also think my MP10QD was blasting it super hard. Regardless before more acros get added I want to keep numbers super steady. On to the pics! Quote Link to comment
