Draco
Anyone have any idea how I can do a DIY screen top for a pico tank? I presently have a plastic top, but the condenstation blocks the light. looking to do a screen top, keeping the filter and wires in the back in mind. It's a rimless tank, 8"x9". I don't want to buy a kit that I could do a screen door with, it's too much leftover wasted. (I did this for my 75g, don't have anymore brackets to use the leftover screen with) Link to comment
slowngreen
What about the sewing mesh people use for algae scrubbers? The holes are tiny and might block the light but you could cut some bigger holes in them? https://www.walmart.com/ip/Plastic-Canvas-7-Count-12-X18-Clear/38690874?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=1453&adid=22222222227026717540&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=55481604969&wl4=pla-87974890689&wl5=9029480&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=112550049&wl11=online&wl12=38690874&wl13=&veh=sem Link to comment
musicsmaker
I use the black plastic rolls of gutter guard available at HD. I just cut it to size and lay it on top. Link to comment
Draco
thanks for the posts! I took the existing plastic top that it came with, cut a hole in the center and used leftover mesh from my other fishtank's screen to cover the hole. I also put a piece of plastic in the back to cover as much opening as I can. I will have to try it out tomorrow when I am back at work Link to comment
