Myrtle Beach
Hi Folks, "Penny" and this amazing journey. I am very excited that I found a normal Reefer. I've been following your BC29 journal and saw this one. I am a newbie to Reefs, just bought my BC29 from a collage guy in Pawleys Island, SC (good deal) working on cleaning it up, as it was a dirty one. I just put it in the house Michael 4 Quote Link to comment

The 29 is a great 1st reef, and mine has definitely been through some ups and downs. Be sure to start a journal of your own so we can follow along with you. Nano-reefers are a wealth of information and always willing to share their knowledge. 4 Quote Link to comment

Pjanssen
Only 1 week left. This week has been disappointing. A couple of days ago i lost one of my gold coral banded shrimp. Today I can't find my remaining anemone shrimp. Honestly, I don't remember the last time I saw him. It's been a busy week and all I've been doing is feeding the tank once a day, not really paying much attention to it. It seemed to be on such auto pilot this whole time that I guess I got a little complacent. Sigh. 6 Quote Link to comment
holy carp
Well the good news is you still have budget left to stock up for the grand finale! Sprint to the finish line! 1 Quote Link to comment
lkoechle
I hear you. My baby has been having medical issues and while being distracted with all the appointments and tests and hospital visits my contest tank has lost almost all its macro algae. I am pretty irritated about that. I am ordering some from @Weetabix7 to replace it after the contest. (i really need to win most frugal to get Yoshii an ATO haha and I do want to stay true to my original intent of no additions after the package for the duration of the contest) 1 Quote Link to comment

That would look great, I'm sure! They do have some rics if you have budget room to add one, but I think just the RFA's will look very nice in here! Quote Link to comment

Pjanssen
So I was looking at my tank this evening after doing the dishes and i noticed all of these little white spots all over the tank. I don't dose this tank, so I know it's not calcium precip like in my 29. So I get a little closer and realize OMG! I forgot to turn the pumps back on this morning after feeding-10 hours with no circulation . So I turn 'em on and get back to inspecting what looks like flecks of sand on my glass. Can't figure out what it is, so I take a piece out, get as close up of a shot as I can with my iPhone, and low and behold, it's a BABY snail. At least some of my critters were doing what they were suppose to be doing in the honeymoon reef Baby snails by Penny, on Flickr Baby snails by Penny, on Flickr 6 3 Quote Link to comment
