Par38 growlight question

Recommended Posts

I just got this light in the mail yesterday and when I plugged it in it looked a lot more blue then I was expecting as a majority of the LEDs are 660nm. Do our eyes not see this wavelength?

This will be my new fuge light and I want to make sure I got the right one!

Thanks!

It has a lot of Reds, which I know are supposed to be helpful in growing plants.

Right, that's what I was thinking too. I guess I was just expecting the light to appear more red!

According to wikipedia 660nm is within the visible spectrum. Red is between is 620 and 740 nanometers.

I guess maybe the blue just overpowers it...

Yeah, I'm not sure what makes it appear that way. I hope some LED experts chime in. Maybe @DaveFason would know.
