(you do realize you just asked me for Weetabix brand Purple Up, right? ) Not sure I can get by there today. Maybe after work. Will let you know 1 Quote Link to comment

It'll probably keep in the container til tomorrow if that's better, they've been surviving shipment via 2 day mail after all. Quote Link to comment
calvin
Ok. Now that I think about this I wonder if it's too early to add since my cycle is in full swing? and Purple Up doesn't actually have coralline in it. Since I'm using all dry rock I need a seed to get it started. But heck, maybe the snails I'm getting will have some I can just scrape off. Quote Link to comment
Weetabix7
Not sure. Is your rock in the tank yet, or you still have it in a bucket? Quote Link to comment
calvin
Rock is dry in a bucket. I figured the epoxy would be more effective on dry rock. But of course I can throw a little in the tank Quote Link to comment

I've used pantyhose in the past but looking for something a little more elegant. Everything I'm seeing looks too big. Search for organza bags on Amazon. You pay pennies per bag and they're available in different sizes. They even come with a built in draw string. 2 Quote Link to comment
calvin
Wow, the Bio-Spira is really doing its job. Went from 4ppm ammonia yesterday to 0.5ppm today. 2 Quote Link to comment

They're made out of fine mesh nylon. I can't say that anyone has tested or certified them as reef safe but I've never had any problems with them. And panty hose isn't reef safe certified either 1 Quote Link to comment

calvin
In 48 hrs we went from 4ppm ammonia to zero. Nitrites at 2ppm+. Bio-Spira works! 2 Quote Link to comment
calvin
And it turns out the light fits! Now I just need to figure out how to work it. I wouldn't mind if the gooseneck were a little longer too. Will try to figure that out. 4 Quote Link to comment
jstuver
Didn't know you had a thread! Following along. Glad to see the light made it safe and sound. I will message you the thread I was talking about on my note it helped me figure it out as it's a bit rough if you aren't familiar with the lights like I wasn't the first time lol 1 Quote Link to comment
