Tank got devastated during my 2 week vacation. Pics tomorrow, but holy crap extensive STN/RTN across almost all of my acropora.

On the bright side, we closed on a house and am moving in within the next 2 weeks. This means that I'll have a full-fledged fish room to restart my system with.

I also had to throw away half of my frag tank because they were just skeletons left.

All I can do is massive water changes and hope things come around. If they don't, I guess I'm doing a whole system reset with the move. 😞

Bummer..

what did you think happened?

No idea. It could have been anything. I was away so I don't know what went wrong.

Man that sucks! It was looking really good! Are you going to be able to save most of them?

New Light: Phoenix 14k driven at 250WHQI and 2x B+, 2x C+ bulbs. The shimmer is insane.

Phoenix 14k driven at 250hqi 2 ATI Purple Plus and 2 ATI Blue Plus

Don't worry, the Nanobox ATI Hybrid is going to go over the new grow-out tank!

really cool - like the display and frag tank side-by-side. hiding the frag tank definitely helps putting emphasis on the DT!

Are the two tanks gonna be plumbed into the same sump for simplicity sake?

Yessir!

Here she is, up and running. The move and transfer took almost 12  hours. I lost 4 fish (1x Sixline, 1x Lemon Damsel, 1x Blue Sapphire Damsel, 1x Panda Goby), and at least 4 acropora frags. Some other things looked pissed, but we'll see how things play out in the coming weeks.

The whole system, plumbed together is about (35+20+10) = 65 gallons of water. Now that the system is bigger, I plan on getting 4-5 fish (Banggai Cardinal Fishes, Sixline Wrasse, and Damsels) for the frag tank. I also plan on getting another Sixline, Lemon/Canary Damsel, and Yellow Tang for the display.

The black backing I choose to use on the display is Gila Black Window Tint. It's like this barely translucent black plastic; overall I think it looks better than black vinyl or paint.

Wow! What a cool system you built! :whoa:

I love the way you setup the frag tank. Do you have the couch there like in your rendering? I would be sitting there often.

No couch in the room yet but it's slowly in the works! First gotta finish furnishing the rest of the house lol.

How do you like your gyre pump? I was considering one for my midi to possibly replace one of the tunze 6095s, thinking it would free up a little space. Does it push a lot of water towards the front of the tank and down creating a circular pattern? What pwr level to you max it at to prevent it from blowing your substrate?
