coralreef20g
What's up guys, I've got a couple quick questions about cycling. What equipment will need to stay on? I'm assuming only my heater and main pump should stay on during cycling but do I also run my skimmer, lights, and wavemaker? Lastly, I'm using a 1" deep arag alive live sand bed and dry rock, I'm not adding any fish that specifically eat copepods but I do want to have a copepod community as I've heard they only really have benefits. Would I introduce them after my cycle and what type should I get for a reef? thanks! Link to comment
tanacharison
Heater and main pump are required. You can run a skimmer to help with breaking it in but not needed. Personally no lights.. just causes unwanted algae before you can get any clean up crew in there. After cycling you can introduce pods. Have fun ? Link to comment
fishfreak0114
You'll likely get pods whenever you introduce something like rock or coral. You can add them specifically if you want, but chances are they'll be introduced without direct action by you. Link to comment
