Tobias
So today I decided to test my water and have decided I'm going to test it everyday to really see what is going on with my water chemistry in my tank. These are my results: Salinity - 1.024 Phosphate - 00 (using salifert test kit) Ammonia - 00 (red sea) Nitrite - 0 (red sea) Nitrate - 10 (red sea) PH 8.4 (red sea) Alk - 10 dkh (red sea) Calcium - 490 (red sea) I do not have a Magnesium test kit yet.. My question is; Is my calcium too high? My tank is a CADlights 12gallon AIO, filter pad for maniacal filtration, I use Kalkwasser in my ATO and do a 20% water change every week, That's all I do. I have a royal gramma and 1 clown fish with some mushrooms, polyps, frogspawn, GSP, and a birds nest. Link to comment
braaap
Everything looks good. With that small a bio load and coral count I wouldn't test daily. Test weekly before your water change to track it and you will be ok. Link to comment
Clown79
Its a bit high but thats most likely due to using kalk. I would test just after a waterchange then the next day at the same time to determine what your tank starts at, and how much your tank is consuming. Link to comment
bob115
Calcium and alk are trending toward the high end of the spectrum, but its not really anything to worry about right now. Depending on where you want those levels you might want to reduce the kalk a little bit to let them fall down over the course of a couple weeks. Link to comment
