Keeping controllers safe from water

Contemplating on building a stand and eventually I would like a controller system. How do you guys install your controllers to keep them safe from any leaks? I could make some acrylic boxes or something, but was wondering if there are any simpler ideas out there.

My Apex is installed on the wall behind the stand.  The only way water could get to it would be a tank leak.  On prior tanks where I've had a controller inside the stand I've just screwed them into the side, I've never bothered to cover them with anything.

Yeah I thought about putting it on the wall behind as well. I was just thinking I'd rather protect it if it's in the stand. Rather be proactive than to lose it due to a little water leak
