Tank: Imagitarim 3.7 G , from petco

Equipments:

- Removed stock filters. Return pump changed to Rio+90. AquaClear 30 HOB filter (runs for half day).

- Lighting changed to Kessil A80.

- Aqueron 20W heater.

- Coralife digital thermometer.

Corals:

- GSP

- Acan (Red)

- 7 types of Zoas (5 are from my BC29)

- Several SPS (monti, acro, stylo) .. Orange montipora and green digitata from BC29.

- Green rico (from BC29)

- 1  purple death paly.

Maintenance:

- Weekly 100% water change.

Filtration:

- BRS carbon + filter floss on HOB. Back chember has additional LR.

I have a smallish hermit crab (Jack) and a snail (Metro) in it. No fish. I am thinking of adding a clown goby. Originally I didnt wanted to keep any fish, to keep the bioload low. But I am having so much pods now that zoas sometime stay close.

Other than that, the tank is doing very good, I find it more gorgeous than the BC29.

Diatom bloom after 1 month (cycling took almost 3 weeks).
post-91213-0-45021000-1486716572_thumb.jpg

Lighting was upgraded 1 week after diatom bloom, ABI 12 W Tuna blue bulb.

Stocked after 3 months.

Corals: 3 types of zoas, Green digitata, red monti, GSP. Rico. All from BC29. White Goniopora was bought.

It was not a healthy colony :-/. I lost it one by hyper salinity ...Pod population has not spiked yet.

I like it. It's good enough for a 5g Pico. I was expecting a bit more stronger light.  But even at 15w, it's good enough for my 3.7g tank. The light is bit too wide as well.

Other than that it has all the awesome of kessil, same spectrum goodness, same shimmer. I love the form factor. Controllability is same as other kessils as well. Overall, it's a good deal for 130$

Today, FTS, just before wc.

All inhabitants are fine. I have spotted bubble algae. It's only a couple of nodules,   but I know its there. Adding emerald crab today. And another hermit.

I got this zoa from coral farmers market. Not mounted it yet.

I like it. I think I'll move it to the other Pico. I don't want any new zoa, play in this one

Hermit crab ...working hard

Don't know the name of this coral...lepto??

Purple death paly...with new heads

Another paly/zoa. ...i don't know the name...new heads are growing long. I think it has a veematid snail at bottom. Couple of feather dusters too

Mohawk, Dr gauntlet and red acan all are doing ok.

Current Fts

My alkalinity swinged, and lost couple of sps.  Moved couple other into my bc29. Rest is doing well.

I like this.

What made you decide to switch from the Tuna Blue bulb to a Kessil A80?

What are you doing to get good pics under LEDS that don't look all blue? I'm working on that, using a photo editor, but still struggling.

I lost a recordia due to high lighting with abi bulb. There's no easy way to control the intensity of abi bulb, which made acclamation hard. That was one reason. Other than that, I wanted to keep sps , so I just upgraded to a80. I like the form factor as well.

i adjust the color right before taking photo, generally. I also use image editors (the ones that come with phone, or gimp) to fix white balance or tweak the color curve. But that's rare, most of the photos shared here are unedited

Since the beginning of this tank, I have a bristle worm . He was 3" long in the beginning, but now he has grown to a 6" long monster. I am not sure if he is bothering any coral, also removing him will be a onerous task. I got a close up shot of him during this weekend,

SemperReef

Still running those acros in this one?  I figured it would be more a chore since salinity/ph swings would be less forgiving on Acros vs other corals.  Acan's are usually a bit on the tougher side as well as most paly's/zoas.

I never understood the huge fear of bristle worms.  Ever since I got in the hobby it was 'common' knowledge these things could be construed as pests.  Over the years I found them to be a benefit in the clean up crew of my tanks.  I've heard stories they will eat fish and corals once they get big(ger) but I've never directly experienced it over the years.  Unless I see one grab a fish or what have you from the water column I reserve judgement.

I moved the acros back to Bc29 after loosing one. Added another sexy shrimp. Corals are doing ok. They are not growing like the ones in other two tanks , but this is the youngest tank, and the only one with acans.

i had put this tank on display at maker faire for the reef-pi controller. Everyone loved it :-) . Sexy shrimp put a huge show :-)

i think the acans are bit stressed out due to the move /transport.
