jubilee597
Hey all, I need a little help on installing my corner overflow box in my new tank. My question is this.... once I silicone the overflow box into the corner how long does it take the silicone to cure and would it help to run the tank empty with fresh water for a few days? I plan on using aquarium silicone sealant that I have but want to make sure I don't goof anything up since I will have live rock on the way to cure. Any help is appreciated Randy Link to comment
demon2
it takes 2 days for it to set. Link to comment
revance
I don't know if I am understanding you right, but silicone needs to cure before getting wet (demon was right, 2 days)... so if you are putting it inside your tank, it needs to be emptied. Link to comment
jubilee597
Yes it is an empty tank I'm getting ready to set up. I will not have my LR until next weekend so I just wanted to make sure I had plenty of set up time on the silicon before starting to cure my LR. Thanks Randy Link to comment
fade2black
The tube of silicon should tell you how long that particular type takes to cure. I don't see any need to use freshwater before saltware either. Link to comment
