How quiet is the Cadlight 8g or Nuvo 10G

Hi Everyone,

 

I'm looking to start a small tank, and wanted to place it in my bedroom. Wondering how loud these tanks are?

I've got a cadlights 8g in my room. When I'm right on top of the tank I can hear the stock pump. But in bed or at my desk I can't hear anything.

I was going to put this on my nightstand right next to the bed. Are there options for quieter pumps? Any gurgling sounds from the overflow?

I have a CadLights 4g and it is pretty darn quiet. Putting my ear right up to the tank, I can hear my MP10 and occasionally the fan on my Maxspect Celestial pendent will come on. If it weren't for the MP10, it would be pretty close to completely silent. I did replace the stock return pump with something higher flow / nicer. No noise from the overflow at all.

 

Hopefully the 8g one would be as quiet.

I dont think you will be able to hear it from your bed.

 

the overflow is silent until the water level falls from evap.

 

I havent looked into alternative pumps yet, but I'm sure they are out there.

they're fairly quiet. I don't know if i would call it dead silent if you're sleeping beside it though...
