dling
My diy lights are a mess. I have 5 drivers controlling 7 colors. I've been looking at buying a.pre-built lighting system but what would really like to do is figure out how to improve on my current setup. Any ideas on how to get rid of the large drivers and still have the same control? Link to comment

Nano sapiens
Will the storm controller do auto dimming ,or is it manual ? Yes. Programmable to individually ramp up/ramp down each channel. The 'Cloud' feature is useful, too, to give the corals a break in intensity during the day. Link to comment
dling
OK. Im ready to make the move on the upgrade. By looking at my lighting in my sig. it looks like I can get away with using four drivers. 3 for all the blues at 26+ 8, 1 for the whites and 1 for the all the rest. Am i correct ? if so I can use am current controller unless the little meanwell drivers need a different one. I plan on getting the 1000ma (1a) for the whts. the 700am for the blues and the 300-350 ma for all the other colors. I'm going to also use this a recommend Coralux 5 up board. Does this look correct ? Thanks. Link to comment

Horerczy
The dim4 will not work with LDD drivers. Unless you combine it with something like this. http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/368289-nanobox-apex-adaptor/ Link to comment

dling
Well I pulled the trigger this morning. ordered 1 1000ma, 3 700ma and 2 350 ma meanwell DLL drivers along with a Meanwell NES 350-48 350W PS. The drivers were 7.50 ea and the PSU was 42.00 all free shipping via ebay. Ordered the Coralux dll 6up board along with the sockets that allow the drivers to be easily removed and the storm controller from Coralux Hope I didn't forget anything. I'm sure I could have purchased a new lighting for around the same money that I just spent. I just dont know if I could have gotten one as powerful as mine for 200.00 dollars. Link to comment
Horerczy
Doesn't sound like you forgot anything. The dip sockets are great tools for the coralux boards. Link to comment

Horerczy
Just make sure you don't put the LDD in backwards. Trust me it's not pretty. Link to comment
dling
I didn't think that was possible. Looks like the coralux board is set up with 3 sets of 2 pins and 1 for 3 pins. http://coralux.net/?wpsc-product=ldd-6-driver-board As far as the wiringI may need advice when the time comes. I've done a lot of reading but nothing beats a wiring diagram. Link to comment
