waytoospicy
What's up guys. I sold off my reefer 450 and downgraded to the IM Fusion 20. The reefer 450 was just a bit much maintenance for me and I struggled with keeping the algae in check. Over time I started losing interest. I sold off most of the livestock and equipment but kept a few corals and my clownfish and anemone. On to the current tank. So far, I love the tank. Having everything all in one just seems so much easier and less water messes thus far. My plans for the tank is to have a mixed reef with mostly softies and LPS. Now onto the equipment and live stock. Equipment: -Eshopps nano skimmer -Hydor koralia 425 circulation -Stock pump -Media baskets -Flipper magnet cleaner -Tunze ATO -AI Prime HD Fish/Invertebrates: -Springer damsel -Flame hawkfish -Spotcinctus clownfish -Tuxedo Urchin Corals: -Neon green nepthea -Blasto -Bicolor Hammer -RBTA -Some Zoas FTS 10/15/2016 FTS 10/2/2016 Tank has been running for a week now. I moved the rock over from my reefer 450 and it basically cycled right away. Initial bacteria bloom: Blasto: Zoas on rock: 4 Quote Link to comment
spectra
Looks good but you will want a better light. I started with a 20 and also a 160 and ended up wit ha 360 and even that had issues lighting the edges of the 20..... Quote Link to comment

I heard many have said that the coverage on the AI prime/Kessil is sufficient. I found an AI prime HD on sale and will be trying that soon. I'm going to try just one light for now and maybe add another AI prime down the road. 1 Quote Link to comment

I had a single prime on this tank also and it was sad compared to the 360. The guy I sold the tank to ran 2 primes over it and it looked decent, I like way to much light and would rather tone it down than try to make it work. Look in my sig it has my nuvo 20 thread. 2 Quote Link to comment
waytoospicy
AI prime HD came in. The wifi customization through the phone is sweet. 6 Quote Link to comment

Rory282
Tank is looking great! Looks like the spread of the prime hd is ideal for the fusion 20. 1 Quote Link to comment

waytoospicy
Time for an update: -Added new eshopps nano skimmer. The ghost one was a little noisy so I decided to try the eshopps. I've seen it used by my LFS and it seemed to pull really nice dark skimmate. The fit is about perfect in the back chmber. It's definitely quieter and took a few days to break in. Very little microbubbles now and getting some nice foam head. -Purchased two pieces of live rock to complete my aquascape and removed the frag rack. -Adopted a new kitten. One thing is she certainly enjoys watching the tank. She would play hide and seek with my flame hawkfish, quite interesting to see. 6 Quote Link to comment
teenyreef
Both the tank and the kitten are awesome! I hope you keep a cover on the tank so she doesn't try to go swimming with the hawkfish, though 2 Quote Link to comment

cherokee2871
That is awesome great gif, it needs to go viral. Why not go back to the 25 lagoon? 1 Quote Link to comment

waytoospicy
That is awesome great gif, it needs to go viral. Why not go back to the 25 lagoon? I had micro bubbles problems that I couldn't solve on that one. Figured I try something different this time. Tank is doing really well; no new additions since last update. The skimmer is amazing, it is foaming consistently now and very nice skimmate. I will take a picture of it next time. Top down FTS 10/27/16 9 Quote Link to comment

Skimmer is quiet and has a soothing hum unlike the ghost skimmer choppy blade sound. Fit is perfect for the 2nd chamber. I like it more and more everyday. 2 Quote Link to comment
teenyreef
I'm glad the skimmer is working out so well. I'm ready to replace my noisy desktop ghost too, and trying to decide between the Eshopps and the Reef Octopus NS80. There aren't a lot of choices that fit in the small back chamber. 1 Quote Link to comment

First off, another well done tank Spicy! Im on the same boat as you Teeny, but the Eshopps skimmer looks most promising! 2 Quote Link to comment

Yeah, apparently Eshopps made some design changes to make the cup removal easier and to strengthen the magnets. Quote Link to comment
