Jayva
I purchased a large ornamental feather duster. It seems happy and opened all the time catches things slides in then comes back out. I plan on spot feeding it phyto twice a week. I noticed green hair algae on the tube. Must of come from the pet store. Is this something I need to deal with? FD's on the sand far from my rocks. I don't have any turbos or cerinth snails. Just a nar and some hermits. Or just leave it alone? I don't know my phosphate levels my kits being shipped. Should I get snails to eat it off the tube of will that damage the worm? Quote Link to comment
seabass
How much of it has algae on it? Can you post a picture? I'm hesitant to suggest the following, but it might be possible to carefully trim the tube (making sure not to cut the worm). Or, if you piss it off by putting something over it, it might leave its tube and build a new one. However, I can't say that I'm very comfortable suggesting either of these in a beginners forum. Perhaps someone has a better suggestion, or will confirm mine. Quote Link to comment

kylexarbor
I know this is an old thread, but I’m having the same issue. I don’t have hair algae anywhere else in my tank except on my feather duster. I’ve pulled it off and taken a toothbrush to it. No luck. Quote Link to comment
