1.0reef
Versa, Nanobox, rare Centropyge angelfish or school of cardinals for fish. 1 Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
I do want to go sps dominant. So no sps nippers. I was thinking leopard wrasses and basslets. Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
After seeing Josky's Deep Blue 80g I'm gonna throw that one into the mix. Quote Link to comment
Christopher Marks
My vote is CADlights 45G Versa with Nano Box Hybrid. 2 Quote Link to comment
Arce
I wouldnt go with the deep blue tanks if your looking to do stags. Not enough height to scape and leave for vertical growth, I think they are only like 16" tall?. If your doing sps i vote NB hybrid, i love mine, its a definite must. Also wouldnt do the AIO, id go with a sumped system. 1 Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
My vote is CADlights 45G Versa with Nano Box Hybrid. The only thing holding me back with cadlights is I want a custom sump, and their tanks come with a sump. I wonder if they'd knock off the price of the sump for me. Definitely not my first choice. 1 Quote Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Don't be afraid to get in touch with them, they may offer to remove the sump from the package for a discount. It never hurts to ask anyways Or if you can only get it as a package, maybe you could resell the sump to another hobbyist to recoup some cost towards your custom sump? 1 Quote Link to comment

Now it just comes down to dimensions/size. Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
Radion 4 vs nanobox. Anyone know of any good head to head threads showcasing the two? Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
debating on 2 side by side tanks (display/frag) plumbed to one sump versus one big display draining to a frag tank which drains to a sump. 1 Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
Now I'm thinking a 36x36x18 or a 48x48x18.... Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
After seeing those IM ext tanks, that's the tank I want to go with. Likely going to have a simple sump with a strong skimmer then plumb a frag tank into it. I'd rather grow out the frags from 1-2" in a seperate system before moving them to the display. IM EXT 50G custom stand Deep Blue 30G shallow for the frag tank Radion g4 x 2 MP40 x 2 Mp10 x 2 (frag) vertex skimmer ecotech vectra return eheim jager heater Quote Link to comment

TheKleinReef
Got a house. Plan changed. In wall tank, with a fish room. Need a good 48x24x?? tank to fit a good section into the wall. It's either that or a peninsula tank but no fish room, and the frag tank would need to be combined with a sump (which I don't want to do). I keep coming back to the deep blue tanks, but the overflow box worries me. 1 Quote Link to comment
TheKleinReef
Planning is in full swing. Likely going to get @mpsti05‘s old tank. 30x20x16. Hella excited to plan this from scratch this time. I need ideas for a sump area though. Send me inspiration. Nothing has caught my eye this far. I might just make a huge custom sump and incorporate the frag tank as opposed to having a serperate tank. What are your thoughts NR? 2 Quote Link to comment
teenyreef
I like the custom sump idea 🙂 1 Quote Link to comment

TheKleinReef
I also still have a 48x24x12 frag tank at home I can utilize... hmm the possibilities. 3 Quote Link to comment

Are you considering a display sump like side by side? Or a sump and a plumbed in frag tank too? Quote Link to comment
mitten_reef
Look at @xiaoxiy‘s side-by-side setup. Display on the counter with look-down frag system. Quote Link to comment

I don't want to keep the frag tank aesthetically pleasing. I want 100% attention on the display and have the frag tank for grow out/propagation only. Quote Link to comment

There's a high chance it'll be in wall. or at least the sump will be behind a wall and the tank's out in front. The Space available is about 48x21" unless I have a side panel in the main room and the front panel in the hallway, which isn't ideal for a beautiful rimless tank. more concise point: I don't have room for a stand like that. TheKleinReef
The wall I wanted to put the tank in is load bearing. I’d rather not mess with a load bearing wall. probably going to have tank on one side and sump/frag tank on the other. Maybe reuse my old 48x24x10 frag tank. 2 Quote Link to comment
