Tank finally looks like it’s showing growth again finally after months of just being alive status.

The carcasses of birdnest branches in the right hand corner. Two dead acros in the middle from the last dying event. Still no idea what the big deal was.

Damn, those monti’s are growing again.

Tank itself looks pretty raggedy, don’t think I scraped the glass in over a month.

some of you may have wondered what this one looks like in a non-iphone photo...

it's been a short while since that last crappy pics, but here it is (mystic sunset in the corner of the pic, no photoshop here😁) :

The sand looks a bit blue, but ALL corals are as close to my true view as it gets

And here's the close-up on those rics's from above

The new zoas are enjoying their new frag rack on the tank floor

Rastas are AWESOME viewing from above

SunnyDs are struggling to re-gain its former glow - I think I have nutrients issue, causing extra green-ness that overpower the orange

these two acros are showing decent progress right now

Contest frag progress - 7/10/2018

Contest frag 8/25/2018 - i.e. it has not made any progress the last 6 weeks, wtf.  This damn thing has done nothing but "bulking up".  That mystic sunset is going nuts on my frag rack.

Have to ask what is going on here...are the zoas beating back the acans?

image.png.bcba8111dfae56a253a73710283b847b.png

Nope, no fighting that I'm aware of, you can see on another acan head is happily surrounded by the rastas.  a few acan heads had some troubles a loooong while back, withered away, leaving an empty space.  After they died, the algae took control of that little patch, and no one was able to take it back since.  Now that my nutrients seem more balance, the rock is finally bare again.  So hopefully one of them will expand back over the emptiness.

I am most excited for the Red Dragon to regain its dominance in the tank. Look wonderful Rut!

Thanks!  really glad I got one decent-sized survivor.

tank is looking fabulous. And I just love the lime green acro frag. Hawt! Our grow out frangs are cut from the same cloth. Mine put on 1/4" of growth, then concentrated on fattening up. Now, the procorals rainbow acro has added on almost an inch in the last 2 months. Wish I could substitute frags for the contest...

Almost made an impulse purchase of a bubbletip yesterday for the clowns but worried it would walk all over my acros. Do yours stay on the column or have they been prone to walk on the sand? And more importantly, do your clowns nest in it?

The one down near the sand has been there since Jan, prior to that it was roughly the same height but around the back side of the rock.   I can't say the same about its babies though.  Clearly, one wandered up high and has been camping out under the monti.  one wandered off the main rock, stuck on a rubble I had laid around on the tank floor, made it very easy to take back to LFS.  Another baby wandered off the rock, moved about, got chopped up by one of the powerheads, found the body being eaten by hermit when I came home one day (I think that was within the last month or two).  That was the long answer, I guess.

They technically can't "walk" on sand, they most likely just drift with the flows.  That's why I leave a decent perimeter around that monti rock.

Short answer, they do move.

My one clown loves the BTA, she sleeps in it.  But she's not as frolicky as some other clowns I've seen/had.

Here's a good one

Nice!! Let me know how you like it, so far have been reasonably impressed by the small version of the pump. Tank’s looking pretty swell by the way!!

Bought on a whim cuz of your glowing review.

nice pump.  i am planning to upgrade pump for my big tank soon.

I like the sound of that.  The tank is turning corners? Or just restarting at this point?

Like those pumps. Might get two small ones for my 30.

I thought you have one? 🤔 is it not on the 30?

Double-post from the acro grow-out contest thread - with a little extras.

OK, as promised, my oh my, have you grown my little frag.  While I will likely not win a growing prize from this contest, this before/after shots do give me some hope that soon this frag will embark on a growth spurt.

Just can't have enough of this rasta rock right now - anyone know what the bubbly red/pink macro on the far top/north end of the rock is?

quick update on the Mighty Jet:

damn near silent compared to stock pump at 80% power setting.  The only problem I have, and not really the pump's fault, I was hoping that the pump will push enough water so that I can get rid of the stock flare nozzles.  So at ~540 gph, the flow is enough to cover the return holes, but it still creates a little too much splashes at the water surface for my liking, so the flare nozzles have to stay for now.

This one was also from last night shoot, but when I reviewed the photos I wasn't sure if the polyps really have that yellow/neon green centers.  Went down to look thru my topdown viewer/photobox from @Cannedfish just now, sure enough as boring as the colony may be right now, the polyps sure have a very unique color.
