I designed this with a floating city in mind. I wanted the rock scape off the floor. and attached to a nano lagoon via a wooden bridge. so this is what I ended up with.

Sweet !! Can u let us know some details?

How did u attach the small rock to the glass wall? How is it held there?

The big rock - is it glued to some acrylic part as a base ?

Wood+salt water= ???

Looks fantastic, I would look into whether you can get a plastic or ceramic bridge that won't leach rather than wood though!

Thats pretty cool. Would like to see some larger pics however...

If you click on pics do they not enlarge?

hmm. I'm curious, what would leach? It was natural wood not a PT or chemically treated dowel. Please share your concerns.

Sick!!!

Thanks!

Well I am new to this forum but I cant seem to find where it is that we upload images from our PC. It came up on the first post but now that option I no longer see it.

This little TinyPic Upload widget is handy for uploading images.

It gives you the IMG code to copy directly into your post.

Also, you don't need to create an account.

And you don't need to suffer through ads.

Rockwork looks sweet, btw.

WOW! This is fantastic!

Did you make the rock out of material or is it real rock?

It is real Rock, Pukani. I drilled the bottom of one of the rock that I decided to use as a base and them aquascaped the rest onto the base rock. I want to add some pics but the uploader on here only appears when yu start a new topic after that it dissappears. so i may have to make an account with photobucket and add them that way.

:welcome: to Nano-Reef!

Fun aquascape!

For photos, most people use a photo hosting site like photobucket. You upload your pics to it and then embed the link into your thread.

So this is the corner Piece I cut it in a 90 degree angle so i can glue it to the corner of the tank. I took what I cut off and glued it on the upper side creating walls on the floating lagoon.

As for the floating island I took what I thought would be a good solid base rock and sliced the bottom flat so from afar it would appear to be floating. I then drilled the center of if with a 1 1/2" hole drill. to have the illusion of the floating island I purchased a 1 1/2" acrylic rod and slipped it in the hole and cut of from the bottom at the height I wanted it to be from the floor of the tank. I then glue a 5x5 piece of acry;lic to act as a stabilizer and hold up this massive rock structure.

As for the wooden bridge I used a natural wood dowel. So hopefully no leach occurs. and I was also hoping that with time it would deteriate and look old and broken.

If anyone was wondering the corner piece is glued to the tank with balls of putty and then siliconed around the perimeter.

I built an AIO baffle system in the back.

I measured it compartments to fit what I already had in mind to add, such as The tumbler for my media, the Hydor nano skimmer and the media rack system that I also built myself and the return pump section.

This is really good work ....!!

Maybe u want to find some good reef safe epoxy type and cover the wood after giving it the old almost falling look....

Also the rock that u glued on the glass ... How does it look from outside? I saw a scape where the person has glued the rock to the black back wall of the AIO.
